twins' nursery

In my serious lack of blogging, I realized I had never posted pics of the babies' nursery!

I needed to create something gender neutral since it is a room for a boy and a girl so I looked to my stand by color, navy, to help me get this accomplished! I had a remnant of a beautiful green and navy floral that I used as my starting off point. I had that made into simple box-pleat valances with a navy band. We chose espresso cribs to create a richer look in the room. I also had a super comfy chair slipcovered in white with navy banding ( I know..."White chair in a nursery?!?" It is a slipcover I can wash and has been stain treated so hopefully it holds up!!).

Here's the pics!

Above the cribs is still a work in progress and with my hands full with babies, it might be for awhile!!

a place to lay your head

I am currently working on a good friend's Master Bedroom and I have been scouring magazines and the web for images that can serve as an inspiration for her room. I am looking for a room that is classic and clean and will maintain it's appeal for years to come.

Here are some rooms that I would love to call my own...

spring has sprung

Spring
n. the first stage and freshest period.

Spring is known for the feeling of renewal it invokes and how all things feel possible in this season of new beginnings. I am feeling very inspired and ready to make a change. One of the changes is to start my own design firm. When I started researching ideas for the firm, I came across all these fabulous design blogs. A whole new world opened up for me! There are some very talented designers out there and I have to thank the blogs for opening up my eyes to it all. Now in addition to all the magazines I get, I have to add to my daily must-reads all the great design blogs ;)

I am starting my own blog as a way to post all the inspiring things that I come across on a daily basis as well as musings I might have about design related topics. I can only hope that my blog becomes an inspiration for someone else in the same way others have become for me.

I would like to extend a very special thanks to Jenny from Little Green Notebook and Christi from Charm Home for giving me some great advice!!
