favorite find of the week

My favorite find of the week is C.S. Post & Co. I found them through a mailer that came to my office. They are a "general" store located in Kansas and they have it all from furniture to home accents to fresh flowers!

changing it up

I have been itching to change it up a little bit. Since I know we will be moving eventually, I don't want to do any drastic changes in my house. I would rather save all my ideas for the new house when we build it. Changing up my dining room seems to be an easy, inexpensive way to mix it up. I am reupholstering my dining chair seats and making a runner out of the leftover fabric. I have been looking all over the internet for some great centerpiece/ tablescape ideas. I want to do something simple and I have been leaning towards glass hurricanes but that could change at any moment!

Here's some photos that struck my fancy...

monogram mania

I have come to realize that monogramming everything you own is a southern thing. People in other parts of the country don't really put their initials on everything like we do. I discovered this while trying to explain monogramming to someone who was not raised in the south...they didn't get it. Whatever...their loss!

Here's some great examples...from headboards to pillows to plates...there's nothing you can't put your stamp on!

workin' 9 to 5

For those of us who work from home, or even those who don't, a clean, organized home office is always high on the must have list.  Unfortunately, since my home office doubles as a guest room, it doesn't really lend itself to the creativity inducing space I long for.  Even though I am a designer, this room always leaves me at a loss because I want it to be functional as a bedroom but I also want to be able to spread out and use it as a office where I can organize all my magazines, work materials, photos, and fabrics I love to collect.  I like how the following photos show how to squeeze a home office into a small amount of space and it also shows it can be done stylishly!!

pillow talk

Throw pillows are an essential item for any room.  They can bring a splash of color or a touch of whimsy to your space.  Pillows are an inexpensive way to change the look of a room too.  Check out these great pillows I have found!
