Forgive me ladies, my mind has been all over the place lately! I am headed to New York for a girls' trip with my mom and sister on Thursday and I am definitely in an Empire state of mind. I am so ready for a little vacay...good food, shopping, and quality time with my family!

So, I am signing off the blog for the rest of this week so I can wrap up work and get ready for my trip :)

There is a lot of buzz in the design blogosphere and Twitter lately over some great new sites that are starting up!

First, High Gloss Magazine made it's debut last week and what a well- received debut it was! This online magazine is to die for. The perfect blend of fashion, interiors, and lifestyle...I was speechless at how perfect it was! It is the brain child of some of my favorite bloggers, Paloma from La Dolce Vita, Erin Gates from Elements of Style, Kyle Knight of Knight Moves, Shannon Wollack, and Lauren Rauter (love her store Rock, Paper, Scissors!).  Seriously, major kudos to these ladies!!!

The other great site that just launched is Kelly Wearstler's blog, My Vibe My Life...she is the epitome of cool in my book and I am hooked even after just one post. Have you guys seen it? Her design studio is crazy! What I wouldn't give to work there (or heck, just get the chance to walk through the front doors!)!! Vibe trays? Love it all!

It's a short post today (more eye candy than words)...life is a little hectic lately! I stumbled upon this entry and it is perfection to me!  The dark stained floors with the bright white stair risers and wainscoting are beautiful and I love the caned settee!

Here's another addition to my 'design done right' files...gray is definitely here to stay as a force in the neutral world.  Here is a vignette of beautiful lacquered buffet with hints of antique brass. Above the buffet, sit a pair of pewter lamps that bring symmetry and another dimension of gray to the room.  No one can deny the beauty of the fabric panel hung in the background and the tortoise shell mirror that hangs in front.

This room screams curated perfection to me. You can tell everything has history and a story behind it and a lot of thought went into creating this scene. This is a great example of 'design done right'!
